Ron Cole - Veteran - United States Air Force

My tour as a Military Training Instructor was the most rewarding time of my military career. My job was to take 50 brand new recruits, fresh out of high school, and in six weeks turn them into functional members of any Air Force unit to which they may be assigned. In four years, I trained 1600 young men. Many of them were first-line supervisors in Operation Desert Storm in 1990-1991, and many had stayed and become managers and superintendents in the Iraq war beginning in 2003. They all were able to draw on their experiences from basic training during these times.
